DOM BOSCO BILINGUAL PROGRAM
Bilingual education is different from traditional language education programs that teach a second language. Usually, language education programs teach English as a subject, whereas bilingual education programs use the language as a medium of instruction.
More than anything else, bilingual education is a way of providing meaningful and equitable education, as well as an education that builds tolerance towards linguistic differences and other cultural groups, fostering appreciation for human diversity.
Dom Bosco bilingual program provides the students opportunities to explore concepts, ideas and issues that have local and global significance, applying thinking skill critically and creatively in more than one language.
Students at our bilingual program understand the importance of intellectual, physical and emotional balance to achieve personal well-being for themselves and others.
They learn how to act with integrity and honesty, with strong sense of fairness, justice and respect, taking responsibility for their own actions, respecting the needs and feeling of others.
There are six subject areas:
Language, Mathematics, Social Studies, Arts, Science and Technology, Personal-Social and Physical Education.
The classes are prepared based on transdisciplinary themes:
Who we are
Where we are in place and time
How we express ourselves
How the world works
How we organize ourselves
Sharing the planets
The classroom environment is designed to stimulate inquiry and self-commitment among students.
Working with learning centers is an experience for students who can develop different skills, concepts and language all at the same time in an enjoyable way.
